ADVENTURE CAMP PROGRAMME 

The Ranch is a fantastic site with magnificent facilities in which campers can participate in a wide array of adventure activities (canoeing, zip line, rock climbing and hiking in the majestic surroundings), making it possible for campers to take full advantage of their time with us and the area. Camper will be under the guidance and supervision of King’s College Monitors 24 hours a day. All of the activities will be led by qualified and certified monitors to assure the safety of our campers at all times.

The Ranch can be located in Rada, a small town in the region of  Voto (Cantabria). The site is located and forms part of the Marsimas de Santoña Natural Reserve. The ranch consists of 32.000 m2 of land, wood cabins which sleep 4/8 campers, pool, grass football pitch, pier, mountain biking routes, bow and arrow range, rock climbing wall, zip line, and tree top course.The Ranch is ideally located between the mountains and the sea and only 30 minutes from Santander (Cantabria) and 40 minutes from Bilbao (Vizcaya). In this fantastic adventure camp, campers also have the opportunity to sail, go snorkeling, and visiting various beaches as well as a limitless number of other outdoor activities.

ACTIVITIES

The camp starts and finishes emphasizing the use of Spanish at all times with the objective of improving the campers’ levels and helping them practice Spanish in a practical way and one that will stay with them when they have left the camp. We emphasize the importance of teamwork and cooperation with their fellow campers as well respect for their surroundings in all aspects of the camp experience. The structure of the camp is focused around involving the children in group work as much as possible. We keep our camper’s groups smaller as to give a more personalized experience so as to make for a more memorable experience. Camper’s small group work and projects will be decided according to an online level test that the camper will take at home after having signed up for the camp. At the end of the camp, parents will receive a report detailing the progress the camper has made while with us. Our pedagogical approach focuses on maximizing verbal expression at every possible moment and practicing as well as becoming familiar with rammatical structures and vocabulary that they may have been unfamiliar with before their arrival. Our teachers and monitors all have backgrounds in health and safety, team-building, social integration, biology, preservation of natural resources and many other tools that our campers will benefit from learning. Campers will participate in activities from paddle surf, variations of beach volleyball, horseback riding, rock climbing, sailing, beach football, pool activities to more recreational activities such as ping pong and table football. Campers will also have the pleasure of visiting the beautiful towns of Laredo where they will partake in aquatic activities and Santoña.

• Full Day trip to Laredo: Campers will participate in water activities and sports such as sailing, canoeing and horseback riding. Campers will then spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying Laredo Beach.
