ADVENTURE CAMP PROGRAMME 

Our programme takes place in the facilities Discovery which offers magnificent facilities located walking distances from Algodonales town and Zahara Lake. Its location gives participants the opportunity to enjoy a wide array of activities and environmental exploration in the majestic surroundings. Guests will be under the guidance and supervision of King’s College Teacher and Monitors 24 hours a day. All of the activities are led by qualified and certified staff to ensure the safety of our pupils at all times.

SPANISH CLASSES

All the activities are held in Spanish.

CREATIVE SPANISH

6 Weekly Sessions of non-traditional Spanish practise in which students will reinforce their creative skills through activities based around art, music, science and various alternative means of assimilating the language.

WEEKLY THEMED PROJECTS

6 weekly sessions of 1 and ½ hours in which students will incorporate what they have practiced earlier in the day in terms of concepts, vocabulary and grammar in a practical way demonstrating their understanding of the topics.

CAMP

The camp starts and finishes emphasising the use of English at all times. The main objective of the camp is to improve the pupils’ English language level and confidence, by helping them to use the language in a practical way and one that will stay with them even when they have left the camp.

One of our key focuses is to emphasise the importance of teamwork and cooperation with pupils’ fellow campers as well grow a respect for their surroundings in all aspects of the camp experience.

The structure of the camp is geared around involving the children in group work as much as possible. We keep our groups small, in order to offer a more personalized and memorable experience. Group work and projects will be decided according to an online level test that the student will take at home after having signed up for the camp. At the end of the camp, parents will receive a report detailing the progress the student has made while with us.

Our pedagogical approach focuses on maximising verbal expression at every possible moment and practicing as well as becoming familiar with grammatical structures and vocabulary that they may have been unfamiliar with before their arrival. Our teachers and monitors all have backgrounds in health and safety, team-building, social integration, biology, preservation of natural resources and many other tools that our students will benefit from in their learning.

Discovery House makes for the ideal location for campers to get the best of adventure, nature and culture. Students will have access to wide array of possibilities to not only learn English but enjoy one of the more traditional but also beautiful places in Spain.

ACTIVITIES

EXCURSIONS

3 Full Day trips to Zahara Lake: Students will participate in water activities and sports such as canoeing and paddle surf. In the afternoon they can then enjoy splashing around in Zahara Lake.

Half Day trip to Ronda: Campers will spend the day exploring this beautiful location, its majestic mountains, participating in scavenger hunts and learning about the city’s history. They will end the day with a short hike to the top of the city to enjoy the spectacular views that this city has to offer.
