¿How to book a camp?

DATES: 2, 3 or 4 weeks in June and July
AGE:  6-14 years
CAMP: DAY CAMP
PLACE: Legamar College, Madrid

CAMP

The camp is designed to achieve the perfect balance between fun and rigorous methodology, with the objective of our youngsters gaining maximum benefit from their English course. At the beginning of the camp students will be grouped according to age and level of English to ensure maximum performance and enjoyment of the classes and activities.

We have two programmes:

The 09.00 to 14:00 camp consists of 15 English sessions per week. Three English sessions are taught per day, that include activities for developing and improving, reading, speaking, writing and conversation and a wide range of educational possibilities that are complemented by performing sports or activities entirely in English.

The 09:00 to 16:30 camp consists of 20 English sessions per week. In addition to three English morning sessions and educational activities, the programme is supplemented with a fourth English session assisting in a class project to create a newspaper in a team, a sketch, or any other activity necessary for their learning, where all knowledge acquired by the student is reinforced verbally. Sports, workshops or games, and free time activities are also included.

ENGLISH CLASSES

English is taught daily throughout the camp’s duration, with special emphasis on the refinement and mastery of the 4 language skills (listening, writing, reading and speaking), while at the same time working creatively through games, songs, crafts and projects involving the use of new technologies both inside and outside the classroom.

Our faculty is composed of native-speaking teachers in charge of developing the fun, dynamic and entertaining classes, so that the language is assimilated in a much more natural way. The King’s method is primarily based on oral communication, without neglecting aspects such as grammar, reading and writing.

Our classes are taught in small groups of students formed on the basis of age and English level, given by the result from an online English test that must be taken after registration.

  • The little oneshave one teacher per class, adapting the study plan to the level of the students since we believe that, due to the short duration of the summer camp, the younger children will get more out of it when identifying with a single role model.
  • Theolder children can count on different teachers according to the corresponding activity (project, grammar, sports, etc.), with the objective that students become accustomed to listening to different intonations and accents.

Once camp is over, parents will receive a customised report with their child’s progress throughout the program.

ACTIVITIES

We have designed our programme with the goal of students participating in as many sports, workshops and recreational activities as possible, always subject to their different age groups. Activities carried out in the camp have the purpose of making the English immersion process fun and natural.

Our goal is to foster language learning through creative activities that develop personal communication skills, with the purpose of losing the fear of speaking in English, as our experience has shown that the best way to learn resides in daily putting skills into practice.

Among the sports activities carried out, those worth mentioning are conventional sports such as football, volleyball or handball, and all kinds of activities and table games. Given the importance that we attach to team working, we emphasise collaboration and cooperation between students with sporting activities such as, scavenger hunts, or mini Olympics.

Activities are already planned so campers have specific activities each day, where they will do different things such as arts&crafts, lip dub making, Hollywood day, sports, etc. A great variety of activities are prepared by our specialist monitors exclusively for them.
